Red as the blood of those he betrayed.


The front lines are an inescapable hell. Between dead, dying, and the wounded, the grass below is stained a permanent shade of crimson. Alucard feels only disdain. Not sadness, or regret, but rather an overwhelming disgust for his own kind. How could they continue while their brethren were slaughtered mercilessly in front of their very eyes? At this point the war meant nothing. Those who battled barely even knew what it was they were fighting for. Perhaps the cause had been forgotten altogether, though the chaos continued long after; a mere aftereffect of the death of innocents.

So he took matters in to his own hands. No longer would he be a slave to needless violence. He believed it would end the war. But evil is not so easily quenched. He unknowingly fed the enemy, (though at this point it was useless to call them such), intelligence that would ultimately bring the final curtain upon his own brothers. Horrified and humiliated, he fled deep in to the night.
