Sorei

The wanderer was dead on her feet when she ducked into the lair for shelter. It had been weeks of hard travel since her lands had been taken from her, weeks of frozen rain and starvation. Still she ran. She dared not stop for long. The plains were supposed to be barren, but in the instant she stepped inside she was taken to her back by a blur of jade - a Mirror, bandaged and beaten, with fire in his yellow eyes.

She took to the skies immediately, her jeweled wings thumping against the roof of the lair as she tried to keep her body above ground. The Mirror thrashed below her, but did not rise off the ground. She wondered, through her fear, if he could fly at all.

In her confusion, she lost an inch. The Mirror snapped at her feet.

"Stop!" roared a dragon. An enormous Guardian, coming their way. The Mirror stopped fighting. He turned back to the newcomer and snarled. In the dim lit the wanderer could tell that she was a priestess. "You were raised in the Light." the priestess confirmed. The wanderer returned to the ground, folding her wings and looking up at her savior. She nodded, curiously.

"My name is Sorei."

The priestess nodded her approval. "Earthen-born. You're beautiful, but you seem so tired. Come with me." As if she had a choice.

The wanderer followed her deeper into the lair, leaving the Mirror snarling behind them.
