Reynauld

Before his part in dealing with Heiress and the curse of the estate, Reynauld had taken part in a crusade. He had believed that he was doing the right thing, due to having heard great things about past warriors and crusaders and desired to be like they were.

However, he grew to find out that his idealized images of those he looked up to were far from what he had believed. The cruelty of the others in his group had sickened him. The blood that stained not only their hands, but his as well horrified him. What was worse than that though was the looks of fear and hatred that he had seen from passersby when they came through. What had gone wrong? Why had they strayed so far from what it should have been?

The only thing he had to look forward to, was the fact that he had a mate to go home to. Or... so he thought. Upon arrival, he had found her throat slashed open and blood staining the bedclothes. This last event- coupled with the hell he had gone through during his crusade- was what made him disappear from sight for years to come...


Reynauld was later found in a small town far from his previous home. Hardly anyone knew him, and those that did had only the most basic of relationships with him. The only person he seemed to get along somewhat well with was the local priest and lord of one of the manors. It was the priest that had given him a chance to get on the right foot in the town- a place to stay and the occasional odd job- but it was more than enough to get him started. Reynauld was in debt to him, saying that he would do what he could to repay him.
