Lucy couldn’t really remember the clan in which she was born in. The earliest memories she could recall was that of being carried in a warm bundle of fur. She couldn’t even remember what her parents looked like, or smelled like, or how they behaved around her. Sometimes it bothered her that she couldn’t remember her birth parents – she wanted to know whose lineage she was continuing, but she soon became perfectly content with her adoptive parents.

They had been a highly ranked pair of dragons in the Shrouded that had raised her, but it wasn’t too long into her adulthood that the pair had been killed – protecting the clan. She could remember the feel of her mother’s fur and the smooth feel of her father’s scales. She could remember the way they looked at her like she was their world and she could remember their quiet times together when they would read her stories out of books and scrolls from the clan’s library. She had been devastated when she had been given the news of their death – and she decided to uphold some of their legacy.

She wasn’t the best fighter at all, despite the training she tried to undertake to become a warrior for the clan. She was swift and agile with other different strengths and she couldn’t get the hang of fighting in any of the different combat styles. She had been dismissed by the teachers who had told her to work on her other strengths, which is what she did.

She was swift and agile, even in armour, and she had the keenest sight than most in the clan. She could spot the smallest creatures scurrying around the floor when she was a great distance away, if the environment didn’t block her view. With her keen vision and swiftness to her feet, she was promoted to a guard of the clan.

She had been the only dragon as a guard at the time, keeping a constant vigil - even having a spell cast on her that prevented her from feeling tired for the most part, and was the one to often run back and report of any imminent dangers with her swift feet. She was given armour to wear, just in case she would need it to protect her hide – and allow her the greatest chance to run from any danger and report it unscathed.

The work started to wear on her, and she barely slept, so another dragon was brought to help her out. The dragon was another wildclaw called Desmond. He was very much like her but he had a specially attuned heat vision that allowed him to see any dangers and identify them from a greater distance than even her – making them the perfect pair for a watch.

They took turns with their work – sometimes they took shifts together and sometimes only one of them would take a shift– resulting in them spending a lot of time together. Due to the time they spent together, they grew close and eventually became mates and had their first clutch. They were never the ones to guard and raise their nests and clutches – but it brought them join to see their children walk and talk when they had the chance to visit them. They often adopted their children out to parents in the clan that couldn’t have their own children – and it made them both happy to see the children and their new parents happy.

While Lucy was mostly a serious and reserved dragon, it brought her great joy to nurture and raise one of her children on the odd occasion that they could – always teaching them how to look and see everything their small eyes could take in. It was always a great joy to answer the many questions a hatchling would have about the world while she and Desmond were on duty. She loved teaching her little ones everything she possible could before they walked along their own paths and destinies.
