Despite his age, Calvin is an energetic dragon, flitting around the lair almost like the butterfly he now resembles.

His experience, and the new perspective he gained when he transformed from a spiral to a tiny fae, gives him a steadiness, however, and an understanding of other species that led him to create the lair's butterfly terrarium. After convincing Lucia to supply the magic needed to contain them, he gathered insects and plants from around Sorniath, arranging them around the entrance hall so that visitors to the cave emerge from underneath the waterfall into an enchanted garden filled with bright insects tame enough to perch on dragon's snouts or the crevices of their wings.


Calvin insists that his creation was purely practical, merely a way to provide a convenient food source for the many insectivores in the clan. The beauty of his delicately arranged garden and the gorgeously carved pots that he demanded from Runa in which to house his plants belie his words.
