Night Cloud Mire Trainer Night Cloud is almost a myth among the newer dragons living in the glen. He's rarely in town, and when he is Night Cloud avoids the hustle and bustle of the pier and main living area. To them he is but the shadow of a cloud in the middle of the night; silent, and unseen. This is fine with him, Night Cloud doesn't like the crowds, or the constant barrage of sound that comes with living in a clan. It puts him on edge, makes him more than aware of how the constant stimulation dulls his senses. It makes him almost feel safe, and that's a feeling he's never been able to trust. Most of what Night Cloud remembers about his life was spent in the treacherous bogs of the Mire. He had woken up there with no memory of who he was, where he had came from, or where he had been trying to go. He wandered, scavenging what food he could, and desperately trying to avoid the creatures that inhabited the land around him. As the years went on he became the hunter, rather then the hunted in the Mire, watching the creatures around him to learn how to adapt, how to survive. He learned to be silent, to sneak up on his prey, rather then provoking them head on. He learned how to use the terrain to his advantage, using the sink holes, and the toridae filled waters to lure his prey to it's death. It was by doing this he gained his first contact with another dragon. Lila had gotten lost, searching for her target that had fled into the Mire. She had thought that Night Cloud was another mercenary like her, or maybe a warrior that had been her original intention when she started her training. She had followed him without thought, and was almost fed to the toridaes for her trouble. Night Cloud was impressed when she realized his trap, and was intrigued about seeing another of his species. So when Lila left the Mire, he followed. Now Night Cloud is a respected, if virtually unknown member of River Glen. His skills, gained through the necessity, and perfected by years of use, have made Night Cloud one of the most powerful warriors in River Glen. He's never speaks to anyone but Lila, the only being he has come to fully trust, but speaking to her in front of others happens only in the most dire of situations. Despite this he has taken on the duty of giving the soon to be exalted the most basic training they could need to serve the Gladekeeper, and never have the exalted been better off from River Glen. |
