Nexus was born a Light dragon, although she never felt any connection with that element. However after a long time wandering through different lairs and meeting many different dragons she discovered that she identified more with Shadow's beliefs and way of life. She styled herself like a shadow dragon, hiding her eyes from anyone lest they discover her native element.

Nexus greatly admired the clan's Shadow representative Thorn, she would find the smallest excuse to spend time with the skydancer. She often asked him about the Shadowbinder and what she can do to best honour Shadow flight's deity. Thorn was well aware that Nexus is not from Shadow flight, however he isn't bothered by this at all. Although Thorn did try to get her to uncover her eyes so she wont bump into things so often. He told her that the Shadowbinder cares naught which flight your from, all are welcome in their presence. However Nexus has gotten used to hiding her eyes. It's more comfortable for her to cover them, so she does exactly that.

Now Thorn has left the clan to return to his native flight, Nexus was devastated with his leaving and was depressed days afterward. At the same time the clan was desperately trying to figure out who to elect as the new representative as the annual Trickmurk Circus was coming up. However out of all shadow dragons currently in the clan most weren't interested in the job, and those that were had left Shadow as hatchlings so had little knowledge of the lore and culture of Shadow flight.

The clan council realised that of the current residents of the clan Nexus was actually the dragon with the most experience and knowledge of all things relating to shadow flight and the shadowbinder. As such by unanimous decision they gave Nexus the choice of becoming Clan Sharpfeather's representative to Shadow. So despite being a light dragon Nexus achieved her dream of becoming the clan's shadow representative.

Her duties in this role include making diplomatic trips to Clan Sharpfeather's allies in Shadow (she most enjoys visiting Thorn on these trips). Her job also includes teaching the hatchlings about the culture and history of shadow flight. Her last but most important duty is being the emissary to the Shadowbinder for all his followers currently living in clan Sharpfeather.

Most recently Nexus has dicovered a method of using her native flight's elemental powers to emulate Shadow's abilities. She uses her light powers to extinguish or dim all light in an area. Giving the appearance of Shadow powers to the untrained eye.
