Her body is long for a Fae, her tail being kept curled in ever-changing tangles.
She looks youthful, her scales unmarred by the scars that are common in her flight and profession. Black gunpowder shakes from her wings as she moves, it darkens her cheeks and claws. Occasional sparks sputter into life on her wings, but quickly go out. Purple tinted goggles obscure her sharp gaze, she may be small but you can tell from her eyes that she is a spitfire.
She smells of seaspray, fire, and blood.

Kaja may be a plague dragon, but the best way to describe her personality is Fiery. Growing up on a pirate ship, surrounded by shady characters and questionable morals, her default is to be on attack. Her words bite, and her gaze scorches straight through you, you can’t hide your true intentions from her.

While she could destroy even the most hardened sailor with her words in an instant, her heart is golden. She is something of a peacekeeper aboard the Dreadrot, as well as being the glue that keeps everyone together. She knows that the key to running a tight ship is for everyone to have each other’s backs. “We may be criminals and outcasts, but we are a Crew, we all hold each other’s lives in our claws.”

Kaja was born at sea, her egg was brought aboard when Zatara first set sail upon her massive ship made of darkwood and bone. She has never known life on land. While she has had brief visits to port, it makes her greatly uncomfortable. She will usually stay airborne when she goes ashore, standing on solid earth makes her nauseated.

She is the firstborn of the Captain, and the First Mate. She is very opposed to the idea that her rank was simply handed to her due to her birthright, and she does everything possible to prove to herself and to others that she deserves her position. She is a very adapt sailor, excelling at flitting about through the riggings and altering the weighty sails at a moment’s notice. Her heart belongs in the cannon rooms during battle, She can often be seen coated in gunpowder, from keeping the guns in top shape and experimenting with new types of bombs.
