Seilche

SEILCHE cxlxaxnxxxmxxaxxtxxrxxixxaxxrxxcxxh xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Seilche's name means "turtle" or "tortoise" and, like the reptile, she is a warm and patient Snapper. She travelled to the Shrieking Wilds for adventure, and she ultimately found herself knitted into this particular clan. She fit in snugly, as if she was a piece always missing from it. The other dragons quickly grew to adore her company, and her opinion and insight became sought out before the then clan head, Ricardo. When the clan began to sway in favour of Seilche rather than Ricardo, the ridgeback stepped down with some reluctance, embarrassed that his position had been accidentally taken over by a small snapper who didn't even want it. Seilche remained polite and supportive of Ricardo, though the ridgeback took some time to warm up to her again. Seilche kept some distance while he licked his wounds and often asked for his advice on clan issues, but she was determined not to let any hostility develop between them. Seilche ultimately gave Ricardo the title of her advisor once he overcame his issues with losing his position as clan head. She respects and desires his opinion, and he finds comfort in still being needed by the head. She assured him the title wasn't given as a consolation prize and that she genuinely wants and needs his council, though she privately laughs to herself when he pompously reminds everyone of his status as her advisor. While her mother's passion is armoursmithing, Seilche loves crafting flower crowns, wreaths, corsages, and other floral decorations for her clan. She often replaces and rebuilds them, refusing to use nothing but the freshest materials. While armour lasts forever (with repairs), Seilche prefers working with ephemeral resources and the challenge of updating and designing new arrangements for her clan to enjoy. Like her mother, Seilche loves to cuddle with other dragons, and she finds it difficult to sleep without the company of others around her. She finds it easier to think with another dragon around her, though she is careful not to initiate any cuddles or snuggles without permission, since she is aware her weight and spines may not make her the most appealing snuggle partner.

Her love of fresh resources comes from her father. She is less picky about her food and more about her designs, but even so, she also has a sweet tooth - what she considers her one weakness - and she is most cautious about the clan's food stores and keeping them fresh enough to eat. She carefully removes anything near-rot or mould so it doesn't infect other food.

Seilche is extra careful about their food stores now that they're in the Fortress of Ends, and they work on maintaining some land so they can grow and harvest some food even in their freezing environment. She optimistically looks at it that their food supply will last longer, and she tries to ignore that it's much smaller here than it was in the Shrieking Wilds.

In the romance department, Seilche finds herself a little unlucky. She can't decide if it's her appearance, her clan is full of shimmering, glimmer dragons, or if her status as matriarch intimidates the other dragons. She had a brief fling with Hadrian that produced a full batch of beautiful children, but he politely declined continuing their relationship once her position was established. She didn't have the heart to ask him the reason, and they remain a bit distant from each other though they both dote on the two children that remained in their clan.

Seilche's current mate is Ricardo. It was unexpected and Seilche thought his flirtations were innocent - he was a flirt, after all - but he admitted to wanting to be romantic with her during their journey from the Viridian Labyrinth to the Southern Icefield. Despite their differences, Seilche enjoys Ricardo's company, particularly that he is the perfect cuddler for her. Their size different means he can coil perfectly around her - not to mention give her rides on his back - and his skin is thick enough that her spines are a little less than a tickle to him.

Personality-wise, they bring out the best in each other, with Ricardo helping Seilche to speak her mind, and Seilche helping Ricardo learn when to hold his tongue and how to be patient. They still argue a lot, and their mutual stubbornness tends to draw out their fights, but one of them usually gives up by the end of the night so they're able to cuddle happily into the night together.

Ricardo is interested in having hatchlings with Seilche. Though Seilche is nervous since Ricardo's children tend to be relentlessly pious, she is interested in seeing what children they would have and, of course, the process that makes them. Currently they are looking into the mechanics of it and waiting for there to be plenty of room and food for their new children. Seilche doesn't want to have more hatchlings when they're already tightly packed and unsure about food supplies in their new home. As the clan leader, she wants to be certain that she brings in more hatchlings at the most ideal time so it doesn't hinder the clan as a whole. Regardless, she's having a fun learning experience with Ricardo.
