Biography
Gale's Thoughts: Phoenix
For the mate of a dragon who's got a reputation for yelling his emotions out for all to hear, Phoenix is remarkably composed and careful with her feelings. You can tell they've both been through the gauntlet in one way or another, and maybe that's why they fit.
She's also awful at singing and dancing, despite how graceful she looks on first glance, which I've always found rather amusing.
In the earlier days of Chiaroscuro, after we moved the clan's borders to the Promenade, Phoenix ran the music shop that Jeremy took over after he was old enough. She and Cole were insistent that there be places for the artsy clan members to thrive after we were settled, and the clan has been far better off for their efforts. Phoenix has overseen the creation of art studios, gardens, theatres, and everything in between. Her architectural prowess has proven second to none, especially when she works with Solana's input.
If it weren't for me and Zev, I would appoint Phoenix as clan leader. She keeps track of who comes and goes, she makes efforts to hear all sides, she is well-respected (even if not always well-liked), and she's well-spoken without being brash (at least until you pull out the intimidation tactics). She's also good at dealing with backlash from others; Cole's fame is not an insignificant part of her life, and even as isolated as I was in the older days, I know about the uprisings.I'm also a Navillus fan now at Zev's insistence
I don't know as much about her past as I'd like; Cole is the one who eventually couldn't resist telling me his life story, and Phoenix was perfectly content to sit and listen to him. Even still, I can say I've only met one other dragon from plague who should have been born under the flamecaller's influence more than she (and that dragon is another case entirely). I've never met a dragon who enjoys Flameforger's Festival quite as much as Phoenix, who really emits the fiery spirit from every fiber of her being.
As much as I love a spectacular light display, I can admit that even Phoenix's dimmest embers scream with life.
