Lemuel

Lemuel and his mate Calliope, both foreigners, met in the heart of the Shadowlands on a pilgrimage to the annual Nocturne breeding grounds. They soon found a home with Ahasver's clan, where they agreed to raise their hatchlings in their race's ancestral home.

The two Nocturnes had a very brief courtship, and so they do not know everything about each other. Calliope knows that Lemuel is an emigrant from the Plaguelands. She and the rest of the clan don't know that Lemuel is a willing carrier of one of the myriad diseases that bubble from the Wyrmwound itself. The sickness lies dormant in him, as he places himself in the heart of one of the fastest-growing Shadow clans. At the right moment, Lemeul will sacrifice himself in the food stores and spread the pestilence throughout the clan, which will in turn carry it to the far reaches of the continent, and then to all of Sorneith.
