Jolly and gruff Legacy is the clan forgemaster. With the assistance of Phosphorus she produces most of the clan's fine metalwork. If you can dream it, they can probably make it. She runs a tight ship and allows very few others into her studio. The studio is built into the side of the cliff and her personal quarters directly above it. The studio is said to be locked with metal bars and powerful charms whenever she is gone.

Legacy is a light dragon who lives by the way of the flame. She grew up in the Sunbeam Ruins and left to find her charge at a young age. A few years into her journey, she found herself in a clan of mostly Coatls in the Ashfall waste. She planned to stay with the clan for only a few weeks, offering work in exchange for supplies to carry on her journey. After a week moving materials and assisting construction, she was assigned to deliver some raw metal to the clan forgemaster. It was there that she found her charge.

Upon approaching the blacksmith's studio, she saw the forge through the windows. Inside that forge was the clan’s eternal flame: a tradition passed on from forgemaster to foregemaster throughout the history of the clan. The flame was believed to have come from the breath of the Flamecaller herself and to burn hotter than ordinary flame on any fuel. It was the centerpiece of the clan's culture and worship. This was her charge. She decided to stay with the clan and study blacksmithing under the forgemaster.

The forgemaster, an dusty-red older Coatl named Amaranth, kept several apprentices, and as was tradition, upon her retirement she would appoint one of them to be the clan’s new forgemaster. When Amaranth neared retirement, Legacy was the clear frontrunner for the new forgemaster. While it was somewhat controversial for the clan to have a non-Coatl forgemaster, Legacy’s skill was rivaled only by Amaranth herself. However, just weeks before the forgemaster’s ceremony, the clan was attacked.

They were raided by a rival fire clan. Other clans coveted their eternal flame and fine metalwork it forged. Seeking to keep the eternal flame out of the hands of violent, coveting clans, Legacy, Amaranth, and the other apprentices defended the forge with their lives. When it appeared they could not hold back the assailants, Amaranth lit a magic lantern in the eternal flame, and handed one to each apprentice. After gazing into the forge one last time, Amaranth struggled against all of her instincts and extinguished the forge. Legacy looked at her, shocked and heartbroken, but she knew what she had to do. Amaranth sent her old companion, a molten marauder, and Legacy away with the lantern to save it from the marauding clan. She left the Ashfall Waste for the Sunbeam Ruins.

On the border of the Sea of a Thousand Currents and the Sunbeam Ruins, Legacy and Ash were caught in a storm that quickly became a flood. Completely exhausted from her travel, she curled up on a raised boulder, sheltering Ash and the flame with her wings as the water rose around them. Out of pure serendipity, a search party returning from the rescue of a runaway hatchling found Legacy and helped bring Ash and the flame back to the dry caverns of their lair.

Legacy remained in the Sunbeam Ruins to become the forgemaster of the clan that rescued her. She keeps Ash close, as they share memories of Amaranth, the apprentices, and their old forge.
