Biography
ARES
the warrior's son
the warrior's son
He's never wanted what his father expected of him. Battle prowess, while natural to him, means little. His imposing height and glowering facade aren't for show: he has no interest in playing his father's war games, of tossing snarls back and forth for the posturing. If Athenos would learn to just leave well enough alone, they'd both be happier for it. But being the son of a famous battlemaster has its stresses, and the expectations Athenos has heaped on him from a young age were tempered only by the fantastical stories his mother would tell him growing up. He was gentle once. Kind, quiet, reserved. He would dream of seeing the world, of meeting the magical creatures and serving the gods Andromeda spoke of with such fervor. He would go out, make his mark upon the world. Explore, discover, create. He loved fashion, and wanted to travel far and wide to collect rare cloth and gain inspiration for new designs. Then, the Shade hit, and Athenos begged for his return. They expect his father to lead the city now, but how can he when he can't even lead a family? They've all left him for the Lightweaver. Only Ares has returned, though he'd never admit it was for any sentimentality. It had nothing to do with the heartbreak in his father's missive, or the rare glimpse of emotion when he returned. Besides, Athenos had already replaced him with the perfect warrior, a daughter who did everything he asked. Ares has no place here. So why hasn't he left, yet? |
