Emerald

Emerald was one of the chosen, predestined for affinity with one of the most powerful of the crystal beings. Before the clan ever came to him he already bore the marks of crystal infusion, and already spoke with his affinity, incredibly aware of the curse and what was to come. Despite this, his mind remains strong and his own, clear and segregated from the voice of the emeralds, which few of the chosen could claim. Much of his fortitude he lends to other members of the clan most vulnerable to the alien beings below.
And in this he found his lifemate Corundum.
Many of the lair pairs look up to them as a solid partnership; the way they fit together, such entirely different personalities fitting like puzzle pieces, is an impressive sight to see. And when any of them are suffering, Emerald and Corundum are the first they turn to.
