Sardonyx the Crusader

Sardonyx didn't feel like she fit in with her old clan on the Windy Plateau or her fellow Pearlcatcher's. She was not aloof like most of her species, but was rather friendly and also fairly dauntless, preferring to stay and fight, rather than flee. She set off on her own, relishing in the freedom, and the soft sounds of the wind flying by her ears, blocking out her inner doubts. She is very close to her familiar, and she found him injured, and nursed him back to health, and he has since stayed with her. She has grown fond of calling him 'Monty.' During one of her excursions across the lands, she was kidnapped whilst flying over the Plaguelands, on her way back from the Starfall Isles. There, the Plaguebringer threw her in to his captured breeding grounds, and that was where she met Viseryx. He seemed broken from the "hospitalty" of the plague flight, but she still had her fighting spirit. They were forced to breed, but Sardonyx refused to lay eggs in a filthy, confining place. She spoke to Viseryx about her clan by the ocean, and the more beautiful things she told him, the more she could see a small spark in his eyes. They managed to escape by starting a revolt in the enclosure, and flew with as much haste as they could muster. As soon as they arrived back at Apalala's clan, she got the clan healer, Noikyla, to ensure her eggs were healthy. Shortly after, she hatched Lily and Carnation, but apart from mothering them until old enough, she was not much present in their lives. She did not grow to see Viseryx as a mate, and left him to the caring hands of Noikyla. All she saw in him was a friend and comrade. She continues on her adventures with Monty, and other than checking in every once and a while, she leaves her daughters to their own devices. |
