If it weren't for the gaping hole and swirling blue miasma of a soul within, it would be incredibly difficult to know that the old Imperial effigy was alive. Eilam rarely moves or speaks, not interested in conversation nor company as he finds a comfortable spot to sleep away the day. An extension of Aapep, Eilam embodies all of the characteristics the enthusiastic necromancer despises. The golem had been created by accident when Aapep attempted a ritual that would separate less desirable aspects from himself. Cowardice, laziness, compassion - these were all things the Spiral wanted to cast out so he could rise to his full potential. These pieces of his soul had to be bound to something and an old, crumbling statue seemed to be the perfect vessel. But a soul is something more powerful than the Spiral had anticipated, and one day the stone Imperial was spotted across within the tundra, curled up as if asleep in a patch of winter's delight and lucky stars. The other dragons rarely ever see Eilam actually move, merely finding the mossy, vine covered statue in a new area every morning. The mossy cerdae that follows Eilam wherever he goes seems to tend to the golem - eating dead leaves or trimming the branches of the trees sprouting from him. It can often be found dozing on his back when he's found a particularly sunny patch to sleep in for the day. Where the familiar had come from and how it became so closely bonded to Eilam remains unknown.
