Biography
Qaspiel
Caring|Solitary|Selfless
Lonely. Solitary. Reclusive. Not by choice. It just became his nature. Qaspiel tried many times to create friendships and bonds. His siblings all left to serve in the Exalted Army, others just merely looked down on him. His parents, Angel and Seraph, were the only ones who would care to interact with him. Mostly out of pity and the need to placate his solitary soul. And so, he kept to himself day after day.
Dragons would visit his clan on their way to the Army, others were prisoners bound for the Frozen Fortress. They never stayed long enough for him to socialize with or give gifts to. Of the dragons that ended up staying, most would often avoid him. A few Coatls would offer him gifts and try to ease his loneliness, but to no avail. This life of his was far too familiar for him.
He hated it, but in a way he enjoyed it. He was able to watch as life unfolded for his clan. He would do little to interfere and eventually offered a few small gifts here and there. Usually these were for new clan members or those who were feeling unwell and they were always anonymous. At least, that's what Qaspiel had intended.
The recipient of most of his gifts, Selaphiel - the clan leader, had realized early on that the offerings left for him were from Qaspiel. The gifts would usually present themselves when Selaphiel was having a hard time adjusting to new members, after interactions with Gadreel, or when he was sick. Qaspiel would often watch over Selaphiel, to make sure the clan leader wasn't over-stretching and wearing himself out. He often admired how the tiny Spiral worked his way around and he became bold enough to take up his position. In a way, Qaspiel envied him. Selaphiel was able to wind his way in to the hearts of many of the dragons in the clan, something that Qaspiel had never been able to do. And would never do. As much as he envied his ruler, in the end Qaspiel would always default to his ways. He would strengthen his resolve to watch and cheer from the sidelines.
And then Onoskelis joined the clan. He would watch the beautiful Coatl from afar, and would often be tempted to approach her. He almost had when he thought he spied her winking at him. Instead, he sent her many gifts, almost rivaling his offerings to Selaphiel. His final gift to her, a mirror, was given without anonymity, his courage finally equaled his temptations. He gazed at her beauty and revealed that it was he who had left the other gifts. But beauty can be cruel. For all he had given, for all the courage it took to approach her, she only smiled. She accepted the gift, and walked away.
He did not cry. Not in sadness, nor desperation, nor anger. He simply accepted his fate. He would keep watch over the clan from afar as he had always done. He would continue to live alone, a solitary being who would never interfere and allow life to continue as it had.
