What Lisandre can't mend with her healing magic, Coiseam fixes with brute strength, quick reflexes, and occasionally, his teeth. Despite being a doctor (and by extension, a healer), he considers himself a true Plague dragon, valuing survival over most else. As such, if he thinks a dragon's injuries or sickness can be fixed, he will do everything in his power to fix it. He can sense the extent of a dragon's internal injuries before working on them, making his work easier, and the recovery time faster for his patients. However, his verdict is final, though there have been very few dragons that he didn't believe could recover from an injury or disease. His judgement is never questioned, but Coiseam puts everything he has into making honest and just decisions on behalf of his clan and the dragons he treats.

Coiseam also is in charge of removing gembond from dragons. He and Alba work together to prevent the spread of the disease on the body and to other dragons. His methods are more painful than Alba's, though, as he is often reduced to prying the gems off if her tinctures don't work properly.
