"YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND MY VISION!!"

Melisansde is one of the earliest additions to the clan, an outsider effectively serving initially as an envoy from another local clan in Ashfall, keeping relations cordial and such, but then settling in as more of a permanent clan member, ultimately joining them when they moved from Ashfall to Sunbeam en masse.

After the migration, Melisande found her duties as an ambassador to be somewhat redundant, so she turned towards her hobbies - artistry. Mostly painting, though she has extended also into pottery, sculpture - though less so since Rhenelle's arrival - and music. She is competent with various instruments, her particular proficiency being within strings - harp and cello being her favourites - and routinely entertains the clan with this, sometimes even getting Weiss to sing along. If they both have free time during the day they will both entertain together in the public lobby, and they do make quite a pretty penny from this.

Pottery is an occasional treat for her, being as it takes a little too much effort to rig up a rotating platform, and sculpture she takes some interest in, even if her ability in that area is far outshined by the clan's earth mage architect, but painting is where she truly excels. She is largely responsible for the decoration of the lair beyond the physical rooms and such - Rhenelle can create the appearence of great columns, ancient temples, or more abstract angular architecture, but to get wallpapers up, a few splashes of colour here and there, that's more Melisande's department.

Occasionally she will even sell her works on to acquire wealth for the clan - she even has a couple of returning customers. Given that she has been present for most of the clan's life, and that she does have a pretty steady stream of income for the clan, she is held in high regard. She is generally rather friendly and will socialise easily - though she will not tolerate any criticism of her work, usually talking highly defensively about her "vision". She has also given lessons to a few other clan members, among them the tailors Thalassa and Suadela who, between the three of them, have muddled their way into learning how to create complex and intricate patterns in their work, and Ruby, who has taken to painting somewhat. Since the opening up of the cavern by Rhenelle she has set up an art tutorship service that sees moderate business.

When she's not being an artist, Melisande also delves into gardening - somewhat difficult within the caves the clan calls home - and cookery, which she is not so proficient at. She could burn milk quite easily if it came to it. She wears flowers wherever she goes, maintaining it adds quite nicely to her appearence.

Melisande's creative streak, gardening habit and friendly nature attracted the attention of one of the sprite entourage of the Gladekeeper during a visit to her lands, matching her elemental heritage. The sprite and the dragon now enjoy each others' company, the sprite usually tending to Melisande's garden and keeping everything healthy in the adverse conditions of the caverns.
