Uh-oh, looks like this pink lady wandered a little too far from her lair (#175939, adocado), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the urge to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. ![]() Xedunkre is a fine young lady who is from a long bloodline of lore keepers. When she became a teenager, she was sent off her lair to pass on the ancient knowledge to a new-coming clan. Only, she never anticipated said lair to have a dozen of trouble maker hatchlings! After being zapped by lightening on her bottom, had her gems changed to an earth color by magical crossfire, got her whiskers burnt by the angry lair keeper, she finally decided that this lair is not the best place to start her career. Now she is taking off to start her pilgrimage, to become a true lore keeper. She will go anywhere the destiny guides her, to find the undiscovered lore around the world! ![]() The next lair Xedunkre visited was an Ice lair, run by a mirror named Silver. Upon hearing that she was a lore keeper, Silver led her to very back of the caves that made up the lair. There she saw that the walls had been beautifully painted, and she asked Silver if she had done this. Silver explained that she had been abandoned in her egg, and upon hatching had stumbled into the lair, finding the remains of a clan that had recently left. They had painted their story upon the walls of the cave, but had obviously left quickly, for there was no mention of why or how they had left. Silver had continued the story as much as she could, but she didn't know much. Xedunkre spent many days in the caves studying the paintings, learning what she could. When not in the caves, she spent her time telling stories to the hatchlings, who were much more quiet than the last ones. They were eager to learn about the world, and Xedunkre gladly told them what she knew. But soon she had to leave, as she knew there was more undiscovered lore to be found. ![]() When Xedunkre decided it was time to move on, Silver pointed her in the direction of a friendly wind clan her clan was allied with. Taking Silver's advice, she traveled north to the Windswept Plateau to a peaceful clan run by an easygoing mirror named Genovia. Xedunkre was welcomed with open wings and immediately started to wonder what lore and history this clan might hold. When she asked Genovia if she may learn of the clan's history she was shocked to find they didn't have much of one at all. "Our clan is a home to everyone and always has been. Dragons come and go, some staying, some leaving. We see hundreds of travelers like yourself pass through. I'm sorry to disappoint you but other than that we don't have much of a history. The whole clan was started because my mate Dusk and I wanted nothing more than a home together and it blossomed out from there." Genovia had explained to her. Xedunkre assured her than any past was enough to be a history and thanked the leader for sharing her clan's brief story. A week or so later and she decided it was time to set out again and quench her thirst for knowledge. ![]() From the Windswept Plateau, Xedunkre traveled east into the hot expanse of the Ashfall Waste. Along the way, she befriended a Cursed Bat, uh oh! Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come, she thought. She was immediately welcomed by a rough and rowdy clan lead by a mirror named Rajah and a tundra named Argo. When asked about the history of their clan, the pair simply replied "We don't really have history, our clan is composed of many parts and all dragons have their own story." Argo drew a small diagram in the dirt, a circle broken up into many parts. "Each dragon is part of a whole, and through our own unique histories we are united." Xedunkre thanked them for the interesting view on the history of their clan and as a parting gift, Argo and Rajah gave her a Teardrop Chroma Necklace. ![]() She spent many days among the shadow clan. Her own home, seeming further away every day...was not to be found. With nowhere to call home and no place among the struggling Shadows, Xedunkre moved on. ![]() After being lost for so long within the Shadow region that it felt like forever, Xedunkre traveled west until she finally set foot in the slimy, swamplike domain belonging to the Plaguebringer. She sighed in relief and stretched out her wings, shaking out her mane to rid it of the undergrowth tangled within it. She came across a clan known as the Z'Arduani and rested there for a night. She had a hefty, well-deserved meal before hurrying on her way to get back to her business. ![]() When Xedunkre set off the next day, it was to the south. She'd heard word of a grand lair in the Ashfall Wastes and figured there would be no better place to gather lore, or at least to learn from a more experienced lorekeeper. She'd come to learn the the lair she sought was the city of Anville. She stopped by the Traveler's Hub first. It was a lovely structure in the center of the city, one where travelers like herself could stop by and rest on their travels. Many other travelers were staying there, and Xedunkre listened to the stories they had to tell, mentally cataloging them all. She also heard of a grand library in the north end of Anville, the district known as Goodend. The Bibliotheca, it was called. Xedunkre simply had to visit. There she met the lorekeeper of all Anville, a dragon named Iscah. Or, at least, she seemed to be a dragon. Something seemed a bit off about her. But Xedunkre paid her oddities no mind, instead she listened to the stories she told. The history of Anville, the story of the progenitors, Iscah seemed to know it all. Xendunkre did her best to commit every bit of what she heard to memory, but even she was overwhelmed. Iscah spoke for hours, and when her tales were finished, Xedunkre had nearly fallen asleep! She yawned widely, apologizing to Iscah afterwards, but the Coatl waved away her worries. She thanked Iscah for everything she'd told her, and left for the Traveler's Hub. She stayed the night there, her dreams wrought with the tales she'd heard, and in the morning she decided to set off once more. ![]() The young imperial found herself again among the shadow clan, but something seemed different. Bounty's of food, Many young hatchlings to listen to her stories, and something else. Though what it was she could not quite place it. She stayed for a nights rest among the fearsome shadows, happy for the change from her last visit. ![]() Next, she visited the Reedcleft Ascent. The dragons here were more welcoming than she could have hoped for! A cheerful Skydancer gave her tips on riding the air currents, and she spent much of the first day learning how to do barrel rolls. When she woke the next morning, she was greeted with a mug of hot Flameweed tea and the gift of some socks and gloves, which matched her overcoat. It was much colder than the Tangled Wood, and the wind blew fiercely. A Coatl, named Hooray, sat with her to keep her warm. When that didn't work, he piled up all of the blankets in the whole clan to make a nest for the huge Imperial, and when that didn't work, he huddled for warmth with her in the blanket nest, with more Flameweed tea and her socks and gloves. She was so charmed with his antics, and after only a little while, they fell in love. They had an egg together, and cared for it for days while it incubated. When she wasn't busy incubating the egg, they took her the the Coliseum, and she tried out battle for the first time, it was thrilling, and she found that her gembound scales gave effective protection from the enemy's blows. But there was an awful lot of fighting to do; news was that a Corven scout had been set aflame in a display of fireworks, which had aroused the local Talonok Beastclan, and poor Xedunkre came back to the lair each day more exhausted than the last, but felt she couldn't sit back and deny them her help. Conflicted, she was almost glad when the time to leave came around, though she would miss Hooray terribly, and he promised to mail her throughout her travels. The Coatl also promised to incubate their egg the remaining day, and care for their child. As a parting gift, one of her Coli mates gave her her very first battlestone, a Blazing Slash. Empowered with her new abilities, Xedunkre took off, her stomach ached with the bittersweet excitement to discover her new home. During a recent storm, she was blown off course and ended up in the heart of the Crescendo. Looking around, she noticed what looked like a tiny tattered leaf flutter into a hole in the side of the cliff. As she looked around the strange land mass, she began to notice various mobile art and carved gourds and various spooky decorations marking the celebration of All Hallows Even and the Riot of Rot. After taking in all of the sights, she remembered the lair the "leaf" that was blown into. "Hello? I-is anyone there? I am terribly sorry for intruding but your territory is very well decorated." Upon hearing a strangers voice, the thing she had mistaken for a leaf came hopping up to the much larger dragon, revealing itself to be a green male Fae. ![]() top three most populated flights?" ~THREE DAYS LATER~ "-and that is why you never try to snuggle with a Wendigo." "T-thank you kindly for all of the info and hospitality but I must return home now. Goodbye!~" And with that she gathered up her things and new gifts and returned home. (StarlineRose: I kind of fell in love with this dragon, so if you want to exalt her ever, you can send her my way and I'll always make room for her! |
