Biography

Uh-oh, looks like this little skydancer wandered a little too far from his lair (158836, applebapples), and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the urge to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here.

He should come with a Pretty Pink Neck Bow!

Lair 1: Harvestable
Blink was a bit nervous.

Travelling off on his own seemed glamorous and romantic at first, but keeping himself fed was getting to be a bit of a problem and sleeping in the wilderness had long ago lost its charm... He was ready to toss in the towel and scamper home, but he had apparently managed to wander his way to Wind territory. Not knowing where on earth he was and almost desperate enough for food to eat his own tail, he went up to the nearest clan he could find and knocked on the door.

It took a long time for anyone to answer, and he could hear things being shuffled around and obscenities being muttered on the other side. When the peeved homeowner finally made it to the door, he was greeted by a scruffy older Mirror who didn't seem the least bit surprised that a strange dragon had ended up there in the middle of the night. She just sighed deeply and gestured for him to enter.

"Off to see the world, eh? Come on in then. We'll get you fed and comfy," she muttered. "Haven't had a Skydancer visit in a while, but I'm sure we have plenty for you to eat."

Blink expected all the locals to be all over him so that he could have the chance to spin fantastic (and slightly fabricated) yarns about his travels, but nobody even seemed to notice that he was there after they had helped him settle in. It was lovely being given a place to stay in such a big and vibrant lair, but he began to feel lonely very quickly... He couldn't stand it after a while and announced that he was going to hit the road again at dinner one night. The chorus of half-hearted farewells he received from only a handful of clan members cemented his decision to leave.

On his way out the door the next morning though, he was stopped by the very same Mirror that had invited him in.

"I'd be lying if I said that I'm sorry to see you go since we never really talked and all, but I figured I'd give you a little something for your travels so you don't starve half to death again. Take better care of yourself, you ninny!"

She plopped a small satchel full of bugs that was tied shut with a pink bow into his hands and disappeared before Blink could so much as thank her.

And with that, he let the breeze carry him to his next destination...

Lair 2: Trixillia
After many nights wandering, Blink realized he had not seen the dawn through the trees in an impossibly long time. He quickened his pace, holding what was left of his squirming package tightly as he went. It wasn't long before he noticed larges eyes watching him from the darkness nearby. His head reeling with all the late night tales he'd heard of horrors in the Shadow lands, he tried to quicken his pace, only to find a bramble wall ahead, and no where he could go. He heard laughter behind him and spun to meet those big luminous eyes once more. "Come."

He followed the bubbly giggles through the darkness until he thought he might collapse in exhaustion, until finally they made their way through a great, wide entrance. In the brambles balls of gently glowing amber lit the area, and he saw many faces gathered close. His large eyed guide, who he could now see was a particularly limber Spiral, led him further on passed the curious crowds to a corner where he could sleep.

His days spent in the lair of Tri Xillia stretched on in a comfortable daze. He got to know many dragons, and learned many things about the brambles.

Before he knew it, weeks had passed, and he'd nearly forgotten his journey altogether!
Rubbing the tails of his ribbon for luck, he bid farewell to the clan matriarch and made his way out once more, confident that a great adventure awaited him.

Lair 3: Prescott
Blink almost wound up completely lost as he trudged through the dreary Foxfire Bramble. Luckily, he stumbled upon a rowdy clan that was seemingly cut off from the rest of society. The leader, a guardian named Gremlin and his mate, a mirror named Kari, welcomed him in to the Forgotten Clan as a traveler.

He was relieved to see a fellow Skydancer almost immediately upon entry, sniffing through some Birch Logs that had apparently been taken out of their hoard. He threw the normal looking fellow a cheerful 'hello' only to be left bamboozled by his response.

"Careful! There's a 5-headed Coatl with the feet of an Ember Mouse and the arms of a Scythe Kamaitachi going around!"

It soon became apparent that Blink just had bad luck, as another Skydancer named Sparrow explained that his son Tiestow was the victim of a tragic accident involving a Canopic Jar, hence his... Unique responses.

The two soon began talking and developed a good friendship. He was reintroduced to Tiestow, as well his mate, Gwynth, an equally zany character indeed. The group enjoyed the nights together, and Blink was allowed to stay with the main clan as opposed to the travellers room usually reserved for individuals such as himself.

It was soon time to leave. He bid his new friends farewell, and continued his journey.

Lair 4: AetherSeer

Blink ended up at Seer's Ridge, where he struck up a friendship with several dragons. He delayed much longer than he should have, siring not a few hatchlings and watching them go off to serve Mather. As an Arcane dragon, he found the Fire Flight's devotion to their god very ... odd. But the lava pools were warm, and the clans welcoming.

Sadly, all good times must come to an end.
