North

North is one of the oldest dragons in the clan, beaten out only by the trio held under a stasis spell for years. Unlike them she had no magic to prevent her aging; she's old and she looks it. The feathers around her crest are grey and dull and stick out in a hundred directions, she has wrinkles around her eyes and she moves with deliberate carefulness. She's still spry, despite all that, and does her job as clan laundress with pride. Someone has to wash all those beautiful clothes and nest linens, after all, and she's still got enough pep to do it happily.

She sings while she works, loading up the fancy machines Lavrenti had imported from the Shifting Expanse, scrubbing at stubborn stains, folding cleaned and dry clothes. She acts as sort of a grandmother to the hatchlings, with bowls of candy and plenty of stories always available to anyone who will keep her company or help her with her work. She can be crochety when her clanmates don't sort their lights and darks correctly or when someone lets their stained clothes sit around without bringing them to her, but overall she's bright and cheerful and calming to be around.
