Biography

Clan Healer and mate of General Aegis.

Aquila was afflicted with an opalescing disease from a very young age. Rather than having been struck with gembond like most dragons, instead, parts of her crystalline body began turning to stone, whereupon the scales would slowly crack and fleck off in pieces, exposing the raw opal beneath her skin.

Being of Plague, naturally, her clanmates were intrigued by this fascinating new disease. What could possibly have caused it to mutate like this? While she herself found it much more attractive than gembond, it was, still, a disease, and the opal was weak to exposure.

So, she took matters into her own hands. With a fervor, she dove into researching the malady, eventually becoming a master of healing arts in the process. Yet, still, she could not find a cure for her own state. The fetid conditions of the Wasteland were beginning to take its toll upon her weakened body, as well, forcing her to leave her home clan in hopes of finding a better place to live.

In her journeys, she observed many new things, and learned to incorporate them into her medical repertoire. But still, there was no place she could yet consider home. At least, not until she came upon an injured guardian in a thick stand of bamboo somewhere in the Wind territory.

Aegis had been wounded in an encounter while protecting his clan, struck unconscious and left to die by whatever had assaulted him. Quickly and deftly, Aquila set to work on him, and eventually nursed him back to health. As thanks, Aegis offered her a place in the then-lesser lair of Clan Aether. While it was a small clan unlike her old home, it truly felt like home the moment she set foot into it.

Now, she spends most of her time carefully attending to the ill, elderly, and young. The clan loves their wisedragon, and she loves them graciously in turn.

Her pearl, as a manifestation of her soul, glints with the purest pearlescent white sheen, reflecting the iridescent patterns of the opals in her skin.
