Biography
Sideswipe is one half of two clans leaders, sharing equal leadership with Sunstreaker.
The two imperials were born of different elements and stolen from their nests upon hatching by colusium owners in their bid to train the best fighters. Sideswipe arrived at his new home weak and afraid where Sunstreaker, only a few days older, literally took Sideswipe under his wing as he used his own small body to warm the terrified hatchling.
As the two hatchlings matured their owners watched how the pair interacted, keeping the other hatchlings at a distance, and always working in unison. It was because of their tight bond that their owners decided to resurrect an old experiment of theirs and upon their maturity, the souls of the two young dragons were bonded together by Arcanian Magic in order to create an unbeatable fighting team.
Sideswipe and Suntreaker were the first dragons to survive this process and in time became a force to be reckoned with.
When they began their training they were allocated a guardian, Springer, who like the twins, was in the rings against his will, and he became both their mentor and the family they lost.
For many years the two dragons represented their owners in the coliseums, their magical union making them very difficult to beat, other coliseum owners becoming hellbent on beating them, challenging their prowess against their Emperor dragons.
Eventually Sideswipe and Sunstreaker became tired of fighting for their keep and longed to see some of the world they had heard about, but they were resigned to never leaving the coliseum alive. It was their guardian, Springer, who told them of a little known law of the coliseums, where a dragon could challenge their owner for their freedom and that if could beat the challenges set out by their owners that they would be granted their freedom.
The bonded dragons spent time researching this and when the time came they put their challenge forward, requesting their freedom along with their guardian, Spinger, and Ratchet, the only medic the pair would allow to treat them.
With the freedom of four dragons at stake, the coliseum owners set the very highest challenges but after a gruelling bid to earn their freedom Sideswipe and Sunstreaker found themselves in the world they had never seen with their small, ready made clan.
Through their bonded souls, and tight personal bond, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker have developed a deep love for one another, forsaking all potential mates, neither having any desire to breed with anyone else.
In spite encouraging their eclectic clan to accept one another as family, and to work as a team, the bonded leaders still maintain a certain distance, they however, are heavily involved with helping to raise the hatchlings.
