Biography

Vitoreva, the Treasured Mother.

Regal l Proud l Avaricious

"If there is one thing that has always been true to Vitoreva, it is that her very being calls for respect. It is in the way she walks, it is in the way she demands attention without uttering a word, it is in the way our clan gives the lion's share of gold from our ventures to the hoard she slumbers on without a second thought. It is her gilded hide and her mountain of riches that coined my queen her nickname: Treasured Mother." -excerpt from Fenriel's logs.

Backstory by Jobie.

For a dragon who prides herself on authority, her beginnings were surprisingly modest. She grew up with nothing; no treasure, no trinkets, no food, and no shelter. She only had her parents and a small tribe—nomadic preachers of Earthshaker who had given up all possessions to become one with their land—and the many rocks of Dragonhome.

For years well into her adult life, Vitoreva could only follow in her parents footsteps. She learned all there was to know about the deities and their respective elemental regions. Her parents made her devote many hours pouring over the listless scrolls at the temples and libraries. In turn she grew wise, but she always felt an ebbing, a yearning for something more. The tribe made constant remarks about her lack of humility.

Her nights were spent sleeping beneath stars and days spent listening to her parents sermonizing of the great Earthshaker or in study. She pined for another life, one of power and excitement, and not the worldly path that had been preordained for her. Worshipping a deity for her entire life seemed ill fitting, and when would she get to own the things she wanted? She felt a different calling, and departed in the shroud of night.

Vitoreva foraged and flew for days before found herself in the Shifting Expanse. The air was thick enough to set the lungs ablaze and it crackled with energy. Still, her soul burned and an intangible force beckoned her. It was shortly thereafter she met Fenriel. He was her first recruit when she established her clan, and he became her consort. Every thought, every secret she had went to him.

Soon, more came under her wing. Leading didn't come easy to her in the beginning. There were times she butted heads with challengers, but with her superior attitude, sheer size, strength, and wisdom, she commanded respect from dragons within her charge. She walked regally, spoke regally, she slept regally. Acting as a queen, she became one to her small brood. Without demanding it, she was given gifts by her inferiors after their ventures. Gifts of gold mainly, and she came to love the glinting coins. A greed awoke within her, and now she is fixated on the matter. She sleeps with her hoard, and her clan donates to her heaping pile to win her favor.

Lately, there has been a territorial shift towards the Sunbeam Ruins. The clan has since abandoned their lair in the mesas and migrated up the cliff behind the Hewn City, pledging their allegiance to the Lightweaver.
