_____Born frail, Cara’s parents saw little hope for her future. Barely she managed to break a hole in her egg’s shell, and was too weak to crack it further. All her life there were those who pitied her, and those who were revolted by her sorry state. No one dared to tell to her face, but she still heard the whispers of how hopeless she was.

_____All was thought to be lost when she became ill with a vile plague. It tore apart her body and her mind, and for months she could not speak or move. The healers that came to see her all said there was nothing to be done but to end her suffering before it was ended slowly and painfully. Desperately, her parents took her to the darklands where the witches of disease had been banished to.
_____They managed to bring her back from the brink of death and restored he body as best they could. She still must bandage her wounds and replace the bloody wraps daily. She wears a skull to hide the missing flesh of her face, but many still become stricken with fear when they see her broken body. The witches could not undo the effect of the plague, but they stopped it from spreading. The spells cast to freeze it needed to be replaced, and several times she returned to have them redone. That was until she learned to do them herself.

_____Inspired by those of the darklands, Cara left her old home with renewed strength to learn more about healing. More stuff soon.

_____Her face is bound, and while she can open her mouth to speak and drink, she cannot feed with the wrappings. Without them she can open her maw to an unnatural degree, and seeing her eat would leave anyone with nightmares.
