Biography

One summer night, as the scientist Mayfleet was walking through the Starwood Strand after gathering some of the plants to test their bio-luminescence, he came across a Nocturne hatchling crying in a basket under the meager shelter of a glowing willow tree. The baby had been left by a clan who couldn't take care of him. The only thing he had on him was a small metal tag bearing his name: Renoch. Mayfleet dropped the bag of bio-luminescent plants in a heartbeat and knelt down by baby Renoch, taking him into his arms gently. He looked around trying to find the hatchling's parents but there was no one around. Renoch's big pink Arcane eyes looked up at the scientist and the baby calmed down, yawning and nuzzling closer to the scientist. Mayfleet flew back to his clan's lair with a sleeping Renoch nestled close to his chest. His clan was surprised by the new addition but accepted Renoch nonetheless.
What was no surprise to anyone was that Mayfleet had his hands full! The child was rambunctious to say the least. His teething stage in particular was difficult as the young Nocturne chewed on everything he could get his teeth on, and most of what could be found in their lab home was scientific equiptment. All the same, Mayfleet loved his little boy and Renoch looked up to and loved his scientist adoptive father. His own scientific interest showed when he was little and would follow Mayfleet around the lab and ask what he was doing. Together, the two Nocturnes would watch Bill Nae the Science Fae before bedtime and many times the little science nerd would fall asleep on the lap of the bigger science nerd.
As he grew up, Renoch only grew closer to his adoptive father. The two spend a lot of time together in the labs though Renoch has his own lab for experiments. Speaking of which, his experiments tend to be on the reckless side, as he will throw stuff together sometimes just to see the result. His adoptive father is often exasperated by his son's recklessness, having learned his lesson on recklessness in the Southern Icefield. Still, Mayfleet finds Renoch to be the best scientist, best apprentice, and best kid that anyone could ever ask for.
