Sophalla was a surprise; hatching from a nest of Pandora and Azurite's eggs when the clan was still in the Crystalspine Reaches. It wasn't uncommon for stray Arcane eggs to migrate to a new nest, but no one could deny that Sophalla definitely was a stray when she hatched. Regardless, Pandora and Azurite raised her as their own. Her "Older brother" figure was a dragon named Sleek, who eventually left to pursue his own desires within the service of the Arcanist. Her younger "sister" is Freya, despite Sophalla being very aware that she is not a true-born daughter of the clan leaders.

Dspite her being considered a member of the royal family, she has had many mates. [Her first clutch was with Sleek, in the timespan between when she was told she was adopted and when he left. However, she never disclosed the identity of the real father, and with multiple male Tundras in the clan at the time, no one questioned it. He left, and she took a new mate in a Pearlcatcher named Achilles. She thought that e would be perfect, but he went off to the Tangled Wood to find his own path.
