Biography

Quote:
from Latin corona: "crown", "wreath (presented to the gods or the dead)"

The Beaming Courier, Herald of Iubaris

ardent | resolute | jovial

Hailing from a grand and vibrant clan, Corona isn't exactly the bitter dragon that she's thought to be when regarding her heritage. Her parents, both staunch dignitaries of Plague, raised her with strict limitations and boundaries. Every year on the day of the Summer Solstice, during the height of the Brightshine Jubilee, Corona would watch as the ceremonies and festivals drew in emissaries and entire clans of beaming dragons both young and old to enjoy themselves during this holiday. While every other holiday passed, she was kept at home in her clan, tasked with whatever chores were called for from the young that day. Her parents encouraged her to ignore the lavish overindulgence that was practiced during the truces and instead to work on herself and for her clan. But as all young do, Corona thought she'd had enough with her family and what they thought; she absconded one night, to the Hewn City for safety, as no one typically ventures alone into its ink. For years, she flew from one domain to the next, befriending individual dragons and their clans alike, learning of their culture and partaking in every elemental holiday she had missed. In her travels she took up aerial dancing and became quite talented in the art.

Returning to the Sunbeam Ruins wasn't her first choice, but she didn't feel comfortable establishing a home for herself anywhere else. While the Wind and Nature domains seemed welcoming enough, she had no true interest in adopting a new deity into her beliefs. Instead, weary and unwilling to return to her birth clan, Corona glided about the Mirrorlight Promenade simply reminiscing her years spent training her wings there. It was then that a male imperial greeted her as he circled her mid-flight, and the two conversed for hours of his studies and her travels of Sornieth. She found herself taken into the fold of this friend's clan, one known locally for their military presence and archaic knowledge.

Corona herself is a bright, inquisitive wyrm, grateful to finally have settled in a clan where the sunshine is so warm. Her constant chirping about things of all sorts she'd learned from travelers is beginning to seem like a commonplace noise within the lair. Having taken Aurum as a mate years ago, he'd noticed her potential as an emissary and assigned her the title recently. Thus, the brilliantly red imperial is now a regular sight, soaring to and fro the clan, her faceted hide ablaze in the sunlight.
