P E R S O N A L I T Y ______Newt is a wise and experienced Mirror with many years of survival under her belt. Though aware of the fame and reputation she's gained over the years, she maintains a mostly down-to-earth kind of personality. Newt leads with confidence and a level head, but is not one to underestimate the situations and enemies she faces. She's a fighter and a survivor -- both by trade and personality, and believes strongly in passing on such skills to the next generation. She has always harbored a love for the little ones. She is a stern, but kind and patient teacher to them. ______In battle, Newt is a fierce, but honorable combatant. She prefers precision over brute force, but isn't a stranger to having to resort to the latter. She isn't any more intelligent than the majority of Mirrors, but she has learned a lot in her time and she prides herself on not making mistakes twice.

______Newt was stolen by beastclans from her nest when she was just an egg, eventually rescued by a Nature clan that took her in and raised her as their own. Attempts were made to find the Mirror's family, but nothing came of them, and eventually, they faced the idea that, as Mirrors do, Newt's biological family had already vacated the territory by the time she was rescued. Newt was disheartened, and felt unwanted, but there was nothing for it. She dug her feet in and resolved to not think about it anymore. She threw herself into the training that her new clan provided, and when she was trained enough to withstand a blow or two, she became a mercenary. And after she summarily nearly died on her first "job", she decided that maybe she should start with rat-catching and work her way up instead.
______And so, she did. She started with odd jobs and moved up trial-by-fire style until she could handle the bigger jobs. She eventually transitioned into bounty hunting specifically, and this was where she honed her craft for many, many long years. Though the clan that had rescued her was still like family to her, she spent much of her time away, on the hunt for a mark.
______She made many friends and enemies across the known world and its many clans, but none were closer to her than a Mirror named Zjiomar. Like many Mirrors, she lived in a large pack of their own kind, traveling all across the Shifting Expanse in search of food. It was there that they met, and there that Newt would continue to return many times to see Zjiomar. The two became as close as sisters, and Newt was more than thrilled to find out that Zjiomar and her mate now had three eggs nesting. Newt had elected to stay with the nomadic Mirror clan for a while, to see them hatch. Only a few days before they were likely to emerge from their shells, a monstrous sandstorm swallowed up the desert. Newt, Zjiomar, and her mate Bahyrin rushed to find the nest, but got separated and lost each other.
______When the dust cleared, Newt found Bahyrin's body some distance away, killed by sharp debris from the camp that had broken in the storm. Eventually, she uncovered the tent where the eggs had once been. There, Zjiomar's mostly-buried body lay, curled up around a nest of wires that contained no living eggs, only sand, and broken bits of shell. Newt was heartbroken. It's been many years. The wound isn't fresh anymore, but there's deep sorrow in her eyes when she talks about it.
______The bounty hunter continued on for many years after this. She took a break for some time, taking a mate and having a hatchling with him. Both eventually left to become amongst the Shadowbinder's exalted. She visits them when she can, though work keeps them apart much of the time.
______Then, there came a day that Newt caught wind of a mercenary clan in the Shifting Expanse that wanted to hire her permanently. It wouldn't be the first time, and her schedule happened to be clear when they invited her for a feast. She'd heard tales of the Tempest Order before, and their leader Athanasia, but to meet them was another thing entirely. She came in during a time of great change and reform in the clan, a transition period with a lot of growing pains. It was fairly obvious, even from her short time at the feast.
______It wasn't until the feast itself that she was able to finally meet the infamous General Athanasia. As soon as Newt saw her, she thought she was seeing a ghost. The Tempest Order general was a weathered dragon, a fierce and battle-worn female. But there was no doubt about it - this was Zjiomar's daughter. She requested an audience with Athanasia as soon as possible, and the two shared their stories. It was fairly obvious that the Mirror leader didn't believe her, but when Newt described the exact place of her hatching, the general began to doubt her suspicions. Eventually, she believed. Obviously, Athanasia was stunned. Newt could barely believe it herself. She made the difficult decision to say goodbye to her original clan and join The Tempest Order.
______The growing pains Newt had seen briefly at the feast were far more rampant than she could have anticipated, but this was part of the reason she'd joined. Athanasia and her clan were amidst a crisis of fate and plagued with archaic systems and customs. The General knew well how to lead by force, but any other way was foreign to her. She was doing her best, but they needed guidance. Newt was given the rank of Savage originally, but was promoted to an Immortassacre Captain not long after. The Immortassacre must be represented by both might and mercy, and Captain Virion did not do that on her own. She is a hands-on Captain and prefers to train dragons herself rather than delegate the duty to others. She's also the head of a scouts-like group that teaches hatchlings from youth to young adulthood.
