While Valentine was just an egg, he was stolen from the Sunbean ruins and taken to The Ashfall Waste. He knew he was different and was always picked on for being a light dragon instead of a fire dragon. He couldn't help being a light dragon, so he decided to try and become a fire dragon.

He learnt how to use fire, even if he couldn't breath it. He learnt how to survive walking through fire, but even though he finally seemed like a fire dragon, he knew it just wasn't him.

He decided that it didn't matter that he was a light dragon in a fire dragon world, so he decided to create his own clan. A clan for every dragon no matter what element they breathed.
