NAIDA

Craftsman + Jeweler + Metal Golem
"You can't possess radiance, you can only admire it."

Naida (literally meaning "living jewel") has a heart of gold -- literally. Her history is somewhat unknown as her memory isn't the greatest, but some craftsman of the Naturelands -- likely one of Fire origin given the obvious skill and attention to detail that would require more than just learned techniques that are apparent in their work -- melded a statue of silver and gold and peridot in the form of a Nocturne and breathed life into her. Some say it was the Gladekeeper herself who created her.

She claims to have memory of hundreds upon hundreds of years spent whithering in the remains of her creator's lair, her shining hide dimming, cracking and peeling away to reveal her gold core as her consciousness slowly developed. Eventually whatever deep magic animated her grew strong enough to soften her metal limbs into something reminescent of skin and muscle and bone and she became guardian of what few corroding trinkets her creator had left behind.

Of course this may very well have been a dream. She could just as easily have been an apprentice necromancer's mistake, or have had her body turned to metal and gemstone due to a powerful curse. Her memory, both longterm and short-term, is realitively fickle; the clarity with which she describes these events is rather strange, all things considered. But Naida is strange enough that she generates more rumors than questions of integrity.

Whatever her past, Naida seems to have inhereted her creator's talents. She serves as Ralakay's own craftsman, creating fine trinkets and jewelry to adorn its members and sell at public markets. She is particularly fond of carving gemstones and has amassed quite the collection of little stone animals that she just can't bring herself to part with. It has been said that she talks to them when she thinks no one is listening, and even reinacts her favorite stories with them.

She claims to not have a heart but yet Naida is one of the kindest, most empathetic dragons in Ralakay. She's not very good at talking about emotions but she sure does feel them, no matter what she's made of, and if a dragon becomes upset or anxious or fearful they can almost guarentee they will find Naida next to them, offering her shining shoulder for them to cry on. She often crafts pieces for gifts for dragons feeling off, leaving them at the entrances to their lairs with an arrangement of daisies -- her signature flower. She knows her work is extremely recognizable especially with the flowers she always sets around her gifts, but she is too self-conscious to take the flurry of compliments she knows she will recieve if she were to present the gift outright. Everyone else in Ralakay deeply wishes she'd accept her talent because it's honestly upsetting to watch someone with that much talent expect no recognition and no reward.
