Once the most powerful Mage in the clan, Toilman tragically lost both his magic and his face in an accident. While training his apprentice, Gleal, Gleal faltered midst casting a spell, releasing a magical shockwave that hit Toilman head-on. The blast scalded his face, completely removing the scales and skin, as well as stripped him of his own magical abilities. He now wears a bird skull over his scarred face, as to not frighten hatchlings with his destroyed appearance. Now unable to cast magic, Toilman thought himself to be useless, considering leaving the clan, unable to play his part. However, while unable to cast magic, he remained able to perform the art of alchemy, since no magic is actually used, and thus became the clan's alchemist. He takes pride in his role, brewing concoctions and potions and salves, but often wonders what his life would be like had he not lost his powers.

Most dragons think he's creepy upon first meeting him. His mask and scars are off-putting, and makes some anxious. In truth, Toilman is depressed, and is actually one of the most frequent visitors to Valmie, the clan's "therapist".
