Andrea, a mercenary turned jeweler, currently supplies jewelry to be enchanted by the clan's mages, but often crafts pieces intended purely for ornamentation. This Guardian still can fight like the old days, and was a regular member of the "away team" in the Kelp Beds. For some Earth dragons, the idea of braving the terrors of the sea with only a thin bubble separating you from the water is unthinkable, but it's just another job for Andrea. Still, it's a job she doesn't mind. Battle invigorates her, especially when she's up against the Beastclans' most skilled warriors. Her wary attitude toward Beastfolk in general has led her to show cool respect rather than the kind of open-minded diplomacy encouraged by others. However, she's working on putting her past behind her to understand and relate to the allied Beastclans. At least it's a start. A no-nonsense, pro-active, and tough as diamonds warrior, Andrea was known back in Dragonhome not only for her perseverance and discipline, but also for her kindness. She never looked down on those dragons weaker than her-- never did and never will. Because she often assisted the less fortunate, some said that her clan as a whole was her charge. That's actually far from the truth, though. In reality, she feels like she hasn't yet found her charge, something that used to be the source of great shame, and remains a troubling fact as she grows older. She never was a huge flyer, mostly due to the gembond that weighs her down and interferes with the motion of her wings. Fortunately for her, gembond was a common trait where she grew up, and she never suffered any ridicule. Many admired her glittering purple skin; in fact, she had to fight off quite a few suitors back in the day. A huge romantic in days past, she gave her most cherished lovers a little gem off her own hide as a slightly bizarre but heartfelt memento. Nowadays she mostly sticks to more conventional gifts. --- After reaching a state of dissatisfaction in her rising age, she sought out a new life elsewhere. Andrea traveled across Flights before finally wandering into the territory of the philosophical and intelligent Light flight. She settled among the thinkers, believing that a life of knowledge and wisdom might bring her a sense of peace as her bones grew old and achy, hoping that this slower, peaceful lifestyle would smother the burning frustration in her soul. For awhile, she did find satisfaction. Yet, after a few years, Andrea felt the urge bubble and boil within her again. This was not exciting! It was not invigorating! She set off once more to find purpose again, but fate fell into play not far at all. On the border separating Light from Shadows, she stumbled across a brawl between a lone Shadow wanderer an a patrol of Light-going Beasts. The young Shadow dragon fought the beasts valiantly, but was outmatched in wits and stamina; they only carried their strength with them. They would be struck down without help. Tooth and claw, Andrea struck down the Beastclan warriors, sparing the fledgling's life from ultimate doom. Though injured, the grateful Persephone thanked the purple-hued dragon for saving her. She was overambitious and high-strung; she fought, but without strategy. Andrea pitied the little lone fledge. They had a similar goal; to reinvigorate their dim souls after their glory had been hushed. She agreed to wander with the young dragon until they could find a place to settle once more. Sure enough, fate smiled upon the two, as a patrol from the Clan of the Black Ink had seen their battle from the cliffs afar, and welcomed them into their rankings. After years of loyalty and courage, she was later elevated to the rankings of Supporting Commander. Her age prevented her from taking the full Commander role, but the headstrong old dragon insisted on helping her clan. She still does jewelry on the side. |
