Biography
Abbadon
The Cursed One
The Cursed One
|
As you're making your way along the beach you spot a small path outlined with large seashells leading away from the water and towards the trees. It looks like it's been traveled along quite a lot. After following the little path for a few moments you come across the entrance to a large cave. A sign placed nearby reads 'Hope's Hideaway.' There are fishing nets adorned with seashells draped across the entrance, and you part them and head inside. Inside is what looks to be a fairly simple living space, with a fireplace carved into the rock wall at the far end of the cave and shelves lining the walls for storage. Several rush mats, dyed bright colors, are strewn about the stone floor. There are countless seashells all over the room, some placed on shelves and others simply lying on the floor. "Ahem..." You look up suddenly and are surprised to see a massive mulberry Ridgeback seated at the back of the cave. "You'd better leave before I have to hurt you. The nerve of some people, just barging into someone's home." Abbadon was once a massive Ridgeback. He was very powerful, and very arrogant. He believed that his own power rivaled that of the gods themselves, and so he planned to attack one of the Eleven, fully intending to kill whomever he fought. One of the gods found out about the plan shortly before it would have been started, and word was quickly spread to the others. They may have had their differences, but none would allow such a plan to go through. The gods of course, did not like this, and so the arrogant Ridgeback was struck down. But the gods would not kill him. No, that would be too kind a fate for the foolish Ridgeback. Instead of death, Abbadon was cursed to remain forever young, never able to grow larger than a fae. He retained the ability to speak, but his personality left much to be desired. Not long after he was cursed he was found by Marie the Snapper and taken home. No one in the Leaping Water clan aside from Hope was aware of his past or why he didn't seem to age, and he was careful to make sure it stayed that way. After spending a considerable amount of time with Hope, Abbadon grew close to the small Tundra, considering her his only friend. After pirates came ashore looking to steal from the clan they attempted to kidnap the young Tundra, hoping to hold her hostage in order to demand a ransom. Abbadon tried as hard as he could to keep them away from Hope, whose mask had been knocked off in the first encounter, but he was knocked aside countless times. What happened afterwards, he can't remember, but somehow, some way, the curse on him was lifted. He was covered in bloody wounds, from fighting off those pirates as Hope later told him. He now acts as a bodyguard and friend to Hope, protecting the small tundra from anything or anyone that may seek to harm her. |
"Cursed is he above all others."
