Biography

"Come play with me~"

Games are life.

Ryuki excelled at everything the world could throw at him. He knew how to please, how to do anything he was asked to do, and how to get things his way. He grew to be the definition of angelic with his pretty delicate eyelashes and silky hair. His voice was irresistibly smooth, and though his words knew only how to entwine and strangle, his victims felt nothing but pleasure.

He was the perfect little boy.

Except,

He grew up a boring life, with a boring family and a boring childhood. Everyone that he met, no matter gender, profession, appearance, history, none of them interested him at all. None of the tasks he did gave him pleasure or a sense of satisfaction, and he hated boredom. There was nothing worse that he could imagine than spending his days under the dreariness of the same old thing. He ached for something different in his life, anything that could give him the thrill of life again. He wanted something more complex, something formidable and threatening, and most importantly something that was uncontrollable.

Nothing in this world seemed to be able to please this boy who could please the world. That is, until the games started. He found himself drawn to a variety of games like any other little boy his age. It started with simple board games, and maybe a game of tag. He felt the thrill in challenging others and seeing them lose even after trying so hard to beat him. Soon however, the price of losing to him would rise. As he grew stronger, lither, and dangerous over the years, he required more than just a loss from his opponents and the shattering of their pride.
He found that he loved betting and gambling. When a bet was placed down, he could feel the tension and anxiety that he never thought he had in his small body sprouting into existence. It was a giddy feeling, but more importantly it was completely new and interesting to him, and he was addicted to it. Undoubtedly though, he would always win those bets, and that emotion he always felt after winning was an infinitely more pleasurable and exciting experience to him. His little hands clapped together joyfully and openly whenever he won, and he would undoubtedly let loose a small giggle out of true happiness.

However, quickly, too quickly he would prove to be prodigious in games as well. They became too easy, and he despised easy things like most things were. He was afraid of boredom. No, that is an understatement, he was wretchedly terrified of it. He couldn’t stand the thought of never being challenged and never living a fulfilling life. There was no point living if he was to wallow and ultimately drown in boredom. He just couldn’t allow it to happen.

On top of his massive pile of useless junk he won from those bets, he muttered to himself repeatedly under his breath, body tightened under his fear. His fists shut close with furious force.
"I need more. I need more. I need more" His eyes blazed with intensity, repeating over and over.
"Then I will get more" His head cocked to the side, eyes blankly staring forward, a grin curling up from his lips.

From that moment onwards, his bets exponentially increased in risk.

One day he bet his little finger in a game of chess. The next day, he bet his limbs and organs to be laid next to each other neatly on a table. The next day, he bet his entire clan's heads on platters. Of which he would dispatch of himself if he lost.

They all scoffed at him. They all underestimated him and were prepared to reap the heavy winnings the moment he placed down and finalized his bet. But they would soon learn that he had something different in mind. He would eradicate them.

The thrill of doing such challenges was apparent, and he loved it. Betting such important things that people care about, and ripping them away from them gave him a giddy feeling that he never felt before. It was as if he was on a high, and he couldn’t get enough of it.

Through his games, he has murdered hundreds, through his hands or through his victims’ own. Beloved ones, infants, children, mothers, fathers… he has a list of how many families, couples and loved ones he has torn apart, and he keeps that list as a fond memory whenever he feels down. The best feeling was watching others lose. He always took time to observe their horrified expressions as they realize that they’ve lost, and that they will pay a hefty price for underestimating this innocent little boy. He felt the ultimate pleasure from ripping apart their body into tiny shreds, or forcing them to perform the act themselves. That was his life, and he loved it for the first time.

Until he moved into a new clan.

He blended in easily with his irresistible grin and charismatic “personality”. He was charming when he needed to be, and he knew that charm got him whatever he wanted. What caught his eye the moment he joined was a brilliant white dragon that hovered shyly to the side of his grand entrance. Without hesitation he declared himself this dragon, Ilyan’s friend, and he forcefully drilled a passage into Ilyan’s closed off heart. This boy let off a blinding innocence that Ryuki could barely stand, even though he was the same age as Ryuki, yet all Ryuki could think about was how perfect of a chance this was to practice breaking such purity like his.

Excitement filled his chest, and Ryuki obsessed over many possibilities of destroying that innocence since the moment he laid eyes on him. He invited the boy to many little games, ones that he obviously had never played before, and brought out the enthusiasm buried in Ilyan. It was a slow start, and he always won. Yet no matter how many games he lost, Ilyan always smiled through his loss and edged for mores.

The games kept going, and going, and Ilyan never claimed a victory, but he never frowned a single time out of spite. His strange behavior irritated Ryuki to no end. It was time to step it up a notch.

The bets started. Every game, Ilyan lost a little more than just his dignity, and yet he never asked to stop. Ryuki was bewildered with this strange boy, and he was more importantly getting bored. Ilyan’s moves were always predictable, always following the same route. He was always saying the same things, and insisting on repeating the same game as he would “do better next time”. Ryuki couldn’t stand it, and he couldn’t stand the fact that he wasn’t allowed to kill this boy. It would draw too much suspicion to him, and he might face even worse consequences than Ilyan if he continued hanging around Ryuki.

There was a simple solution to this, and Ryuki knew how exactly he should execute it. It was easy; take back the “friendship” he promised so earnestly and step on it as he left. In a brief one sided exchange, Ryuki sank his venomous fangs into the poor boy and paralyzed him with his harsh words. Wide eyed, Ilyan’s knees wobbled from the impact of Ryuki’s scathing comments. Ryuki lowered his eyes at his piece of work, and gave a satisfied smirk. He spun on his heel, and walked away. There would always be better games to play.

That was that.

Except

A crushing wave of dread washed over Ryuki as he felt a bold hand on his shoulder. His knees crumpled under him as he grasped his chest, unsure of this new emotion he was feeling. His face turned, and he took much longer than he cared to acknowledge to recognize what he was looking at. He faced a grinning Ilyan, and yet he couldn’t seem to process that fact. Ryuki felt his heart skip a beat as he laid his eyes on Ilyan’s completely out of character expression, and felt his breath growing shorter. He felt his cheeks heat up dangerously, and his lips parted in confusion. A mix of new emotions he has never felt before battled to gain dominance in his body. He couldn’t understand anything anymore.

“Bad at games, huh?” Ilyan uttered, his piercing blue eyes glowing cruelly, his lips drawn up in a smirk.
