Anscross

Trapped. Amber looked around him. The only exit was in front of him where the
group of dragons stood, waiting. During a conversation, he had dared voice his opinion that the Arcanist was the primary reason for Sornieth’s troubles. The angry group that had begun chasing him had grown from three to seven. Most of them were not trained same as himself. However, his greater size helped keep him from harm, until now.
As he braced himself for the onslaught, there was a voice from behind the assailants,
“Arden, it looks like we arrived just in the nick of time. What does that make us?”
“Big D...”
Another throat cleared itself.
“Dang. I was going to say. Big Dang Heroes.”
The leader of the attackers, a guardian with some training, spoke without looking behind him, “ This is no business of yours. You should leave.”
The first voice spoke again,“But we do *so* like to help the underdog. Don’t we Ahmis?”
:An affirmative grunt:
Then to Amber, “Do you need help, friend?”
Amber nodded, “I was doing okay until I was led in to this corner.”
“Trapped. Like the rat you are and now there is no escape.” the Guardian gloated.
“Or,” a low voice stated. “Did *we* trap *you*?” the blockading dragons turned
to see three huge Imperials moving behind them. The full blue Imperial continued, “ Any who wish to withdraw, may do so - now.”
“We’re not going anywhere.” dared the Guardian.
“I was really hoping you would say something stupid like that.” Chennault, the sunshine with tiger stripes, said with a smile.
The seven attacked and moments later, two were allowed to escape.
The three victors led Amber to Lulungomeena. where they told the Clan how they saw him take on the group of dragons. Even untrained, he had shown skill. It was decided that he could stay with the clan on probation.
He was convinced to change his appearance for a lower profile. He didn’t want to change his breed. But did change his colors and patterns. He also changed his name to Anscross.
Anscross has become close friends with Arden and Chennault.
He serves in the Lulungomeena Defense Force, Ampezist Unit as one of the Gatekeepers for Lulungomeena Island.
