Biography
Lucky sighed, and stepped into the circle of runes again. He'd been through this before, twice.
The first time had been long ago, with Magnus reading the Scatterscroll, ending is some crackling sparks and a puff of smoke. And the second time, Ardas had read the scroll, which ended in a glaring light and even more garish colors.
So Lucky sat in the center of the circle, hung his head, sighed again, and waited.
This time, while Ardas was reading the scroll again, Magnus was watching the mana flow, and testing the magics via a mirror, provided by Taellna. Each time Magnus tested the mana, he'd tap the mirror with a claw, and make a face, while Ardas stood ready to trigger the scroll.
And then, Magnus started in surprise, and yelled "NOW!", causing Ardas to form the magic around him, and trigger the scrolls effects.
At first, nothing happened. Until, as Magnus was about to ask if the scroll had triggered properly, a tiny, icy, spark leapt off the scroll, and flowed with ever growing intensity towards the circle of runes.
As the spark flowed towards the circle, Lucky's eyes shot open and he stood up straight, wings flaring out, and the spark flowed into the runes, and spread from Lucky's nose, coursing over the body slowly, from the nose to the tip of his tail.
Lucky stretched his body and wings, moving with the flow of the magic, until it finally dissipated in a few tiny sparks, bouncing off the tips of his wings, tail, and mane, leaving a certain icy chill in the air.
Magnus and Ardas exchanged a stunned look with each other, as neither had expected the unusual reaction from the scroll, nor the results.
Magnus' surprise broke first, as Lucky strode off of the magic circle, which caused Magnus to unveil the wall length mirror that had been concealed during the casting.
Lucky appraised his new colors in the mirror, and slowly smiled. He couldn't have chosen a better set of colors if he'd planned it, and even better, he could feel a change in the magic that flowed through him. He would be spending time enjoying his new colors, and getting out to see the world, instead of scrimping and saving for another scroll, and he'd also be consulting Magnus and Ardas about the new flow of magic in him.
But first, some reintroductions. The rest of the clan probably wouldn't recognize him, given how different he looked now.
"This magic took some getting used to, and it still almost has a mind of its own, but I have mastered it. Now, it's merely a matter of finding where to use it, and fixing any problems it might have caused while I was learning control."
