You pick up a unique crystal from a pile- unlike the others, its faded and doesn't glow.. Etched on it are many runes, their carvings chipped. This seems unmaintained. It's a data crystal, used for storing information. Perhaps if you use it, you can learn something new?

Irin is one of Salem's original creations- a pearlcatcher divided into Irin and their sibling Quaddisin. As one of the first creations, they are important to the running of the Empire, and are the most trusted advisors to Salem.

They help collect reagents for Salem, and have kidnapped many dragons for her. They need their sibling's help for these tasks due to the method of their creation. They only have one wing, and thus rely on Quaddision for a quick getaway.

Irin carries a faux pearl that allows them to commune with Salem at any point. It also acts as an remote camera, which allows Irin to watch even if they are not physically there.

Their creation was a success- my first creation, and the only ones I have used my own coralea, my own body. Their awakening was rather brutal, as they felt lost and scared- something that has become rather normal after time. The only difference was having a sibling their made them much more difficult to work with. After I explained who I was, and that I had raised them from their previously brutal fate, they realized their major debt towards me. Now, they are loyal to me and me only.

My own coralea has tied them to me- I feel a part of me ache whenever they leave. If they feel the same, I have not heard of such things. They are keen to share everything with me. This has led to some disputes, their more sensitive nature taken aback my the cruelty of my actions.

Yet their sensitive nature is what makes them so useful. They have integrated themselves seemlessly into the Empire, a friendly and familiar face to all. It's what makes it so easy to spy on the other members of the Empire. Whether Irin has doubts about these actions is unclear- they seem to dislike reporting, yet they do not stop. Perhaps it is out of a sense of duty to me.

Quaddisin
Their sibling- it should be expected that they stick closely together. Irin has complained about feeling too lightheaded and forgetful whenever Quaddisin is not nearby. It limits their capabilities by a large margin, but they make an efficient duo together. Besides, they're always very easy to convice if I use the other one as leverage.
