Young Finrod respects his parents and the Eldest, but despite their hopes of him becoming a warrior he shows more interest in crafts. He likes to make simple jewelry out of leather, rocks and flowers. Finrod indeed shows a great promise as an artist.
He uses his time enjoying sunbeams, wind and different smells and tastes around him - and sometimes takes fighting lessons with his mother even though he does no enjoy them. To say 'no I don't want to fight' is just too challenging for him.
