Biography

ruin_small_by_littlestwings-dajf8n5.png Ruin
Berserker of the Heathwood Band
Quiet | Determined | Infected

Ruin was bitten, not born, as it so often was with the infected. She had a life before an infected wolpen had wandered resolutely into the pack. She was still young when it happened, young enough to feel the loss of her parents, everyone, in the pack's scramble to put down the intruder.

Maybe part of the reason was her youth, or her place of origin, that her body fought the illness so strongly. Flights and their overseeing Deities mattered so little to the wolpen when so few of them carried any magical influence at all. But it had fought, her mind and her body both, to push out the sticky virus that clung to her insides, seeming to outsiders that it almost halved her personality. At times feverish with despair and frightful, almost childish, and at others violent without thought or premeditation, lashing out with a senseless rage.

It was Star that found her, when she was laying out the borders for the Heathwood territory. At first they kept their distance from each other, no doubt as Star had been taught. Ruin anticipated the end, an infected wolpen was a threat to any nearby packs and would surely be eliminated. But.. it never came. Instead Star began to reach out to Ruin, weathered her more manic episodes by her side and a strange sort of clarity became her.

Between Star, and the healers of Heathwood she began to recover, much to everyone's surprise. Through careful training they found that Ruin's particular strand of infection could be utilized and she reveled in new purpose and the place it gave her in a community she thought was she was forever denied. The fondness between herself and Star only grew as the weeks stretched into months, and it was Star who insistently took her as her mate.
