옛)프리지아(Preesia )와 한날 한시에 같이 태어난 절친한 사이
폴리모프시 160의 키에 여리여리한 체격 앞머리는없고 길게 내려오는 은색과 매우 옅은 하늘색이 섞인 긴 생머리, 표정변화가 크게없는게 특징이다.

엄격한 귀족집안에 태어난 피오니는 매우 부끄러움이많지만 엄한 교육속에서 감정을 드러내는 방법을 잃은 소녀이다.
그녀는 수오스 왕국의 신녀로 선택되어
청소년이 되기 전 자신하고 제일 친한친구인 프리지아와도 떨어진채 혼자 낯설은 신관에서 성년식을 맞이하고 신녀가 된다.
신관에선 사람을 보는일이 다함께 있는 예배시간 빼곤 극히 드물어서
경호하는 경호병인 브릭 (Brik)에게 관심을 보이다 사랑하게되지만
신녀는 순결함을 지켜야한다는 옛날부터 전해져 내려오는 규칙때문에 짝사랑밖에 할수없었고
그 사실을 모르는 브릭은 같은 경비병출신인 리넨 (Linen) 과 결혼한다.
피오니는 절망에 빠지지만 감정을드러낼수 없어 속으로만 자신의 지위를 저주한다.

그러나 어느날부터 그녀가 모시는 신인 엠피리언(Empyreon) 을 자신의 눈으로 볼수도 만질수도있게된 이후로부터 이런저런 엠피리언에게 속마음도 털어놓고
엠피리언이 자기 자신을 좋아한다는걸 느낄수있는 처음으로 받아보는 엄격하지않은 따스한 대우에 많이 낯설어 경계하기도하지만
자기 자신도 모른채 엠피리언에게 많이 의지하고있다.

신녀에게 엠피리언의 뜻(이야기)을 전달하는 동물
신녀와 신 각각 한마리씩 존재한다.
신녀에게 신의 뜻을 전달하는 동물은 신이 어떤 동물을 선택하느냐에 따라 다르다.
그러나 뜻을 전달하기위한 목적을 지닌건 모두 같으며
신이 신녀에게 전달할 사항 말고도 신녀가 신과의 멀리 있을때 물음에 대한 대답을 구하고자할때 질문을 동물에게 하면 신의 동물과 연결이 되어 해답을 빨리 줄수있다.
그것뿐만아니라 신이 직접 사슴을 통해 말을 할수도있다한다.
