Sunbeam never disliked the crystalline beauty that made up the ice flight but as a young hatchling she felt it just wasn't where she belonged. She made up her mind to set out on a journey to find a place where she felt was truly home.

She once found herself in the Beacon of the Radiant Eye. She could not remember how she had ended up there or what she had been doing. She looked up to see the god of light, the Lightweaver herself gazing down into her icy blue eyes. The Lightweaver explained to her that she had collapsed from exhaustion into the angry blue sea below where she was rescued by the Lightweaver and her loyal companions. The Lightweaver gave her a blessing which few dragons barely ever receive and then she was given a mission. With her new light soldier friend by her side to protect her, solar blades to power her from the Lightweaver's rays of sun and an illuminated crown to remind her that the Lightweaver will always be with her she set off towards the Reedcleft Ascent where she then found the SpringBreeze clan.
