Persona Fisc has precisely one interest, and that is anything that shines. Gold draws his eye before all else, and he has spent the bulk of his life within the treasury admiring and protecting it. Though he simply never flies anymore (and would be terrible at it if he tried), he practices a strict regime to stay in shape, and is a paramount example of a guardian in his prime. Though his social skills are weak from lack of stimulation, he is still friendly toward Crypto, who brings him his food, even though she is also the one that slips sleeping herbs into his food so Pith can take treasure from the hoard. He blames Pith for this, and is hostile toward the guardian as he is of any stranger that makes their way to the treasury. If convinced that a visitor does not wish to take his treasure, he can be amiable enough, though he will want to talk about little besides the beauty of gold. His familiar, a golden porpoise, lives in a shallow pool within the treasury. Though the pool is fed by an underwater channel that connects to the sea, the opening is too small to allow the porpoise to leave of even a water fae to enter. The thing is small and weak, but Fisc cares for it as best he can, feeding it scraps and teaching it to squeal in alarm at visitors when he is asleep. Background Not long after the Dire War, Fetid and Decay stole a number of eggs to bolster the Enclave's numbers. Fisc's egg, having slipped into a stolen vase without being noticed, hatched in the hoard room a few days after the wildclaws' return and the guardian went undiscovered until hungry cries were heard echoing from the chamber. As a plague dragon, he was raised within Petrous's care, but as there were other hatchlings that demanded more of the ridgeback's attention, he often snuck off to the hoard to play, pretending that one glimmering bit of treasure or another was his Charge. Unlike for other guardian hatchlings, however, Fisc's game never varied, and he collected trinkets of his own when he grew too large to continue sneaking into the treasury. Unsurprisingly, he claimed the Enclave's treasury as his charge when he reached adulthood, and was allowed to become guard. Since then he has stayed within hoard chambers, and has more than once caught would-be thieves and pilferers from sullying the gold within. Derangement Fisc is a hoarder and particularly obsessed with the luster of gold. Even those of rank within the Enclave can have trouble taking any sizable amount from the hoard, and often Fisc must be drugged with his food to avoid violent altercation. |
