Biography
Z U R O
The Fire Ambassador
The Fire Ambassador
B I O G R A P H Y
He was still a juvenile when he became disenfranchised by the Nature Flight and left home for the Starfall Isles, where he met his first mate. Her loyalty to the Dragon Gods like the Arcanist left him angry though, and their happiness was short-lived. Shortly after the birth of their three hatchlings, he left once again: this time with his daughter Scarlet, whom he escorted to the Sunbeam Ruins. She made it to her new lair safely but Zuro went missing shortly thereafter. He was found half starved in the ruins of the Hewn City by Bulah and returned to the Light Flight Vaulkreath Clan, where he stayed. Above all else, Zuro can be described as being aggrieved and indignant. His resentment for the Dragon Gods and eventual relationship with Bulah, a Fire Flight dragon, left him to yearn for the destructive heat of the Ashfall Waste. When Bulah turned down the chance to serve as the clan's ambassador to the Fire Flight, Zuro jumped at the opportunity. He concealed his green eyes and learned how to weild fire spells from the magic he learned while living with the Arcane Flight. Despite having no loyalty to the Flamecaller herself, he personally resonates with the destructive nature of fire. In a world that hurt him repeatedly, it's the only comfort he has left. |

Groove shouted. His mane bristled in horror. "No!" The Tundra was knocked back by a second explosion. Another wave of fire lashed over the landscape and choked the oxygen out of the air. A massive Imperial came through the cloud of smoke, landing hard and crushing his front talons over Arquen's throat. The wounded soldier cried out in agony. Groove recognized Goblin immediately. The assassin hissed flames through his clenched jaws, lowered his massive head for a killing bite. "The Church for the Pure Flights will pay handsomely for your head, Lightning Traitor," Goblin said. "I regret to inform you that this will be extremely painful..." Arquen choked on his own blood. His fearsome roar was reduced to a whimper. His strength had failed him. |
Before Goblin could deliver the death blow, a surge of fire to match his own surged past. It struck him in the face, made him reel back. His roar of pain echoed across the Light Flight territory, could be heard as far as the Tangled Wood and Shifting Expanse. Groove turned. Over and behind him, stepping out through the smoke and followed by will 'o the embers, was a second Imperial in wolf's skin. The ground shook beneath him. Groove stammered. "Zuro! I thought you were...!" "Go and help Arquen. Now." Zuro said. Flames built under his footfalls, whisked like tendrils off of his body. Healthy, furious fire steamed from the gaps in his gritted fangs. "This fanatic is mine." "Fanatic? Get over yourself. There's a price for you as well, Zuro!" Goblin's eyes were wild in the orange night. "You're a Nature Dragon and that will never change! You nested with an Arcane, lived among Light, and pretend to be Fire. It's disgusting! The Pure Flights will prevail!" The rival Imperial sneered, spreading his wings wide. For a moment, Groove couldn't help but stare as Zuro spread his own wings. The wide hole in the right membrane made Goblin laugh. "Do you think whatever misplaced Gods you worship will help you defeat me?" "I don't need Gods," Zuro said, and unfurled fire from his burning maw. |
