Background:

Hundreds of years ago, when the Third Age was barely dawning, Ieskar was a great king of a massive and powerful clan. Through his strength and leadership, he conquered many other clans, drawing them into his alliance. His ultimate goal was unity of dragonkind, hoping to inspire the deities to take example from their children and settle their differences so that Sornieth might once again know peace. Obviously, not every clan agreed with his philosophy or his methods, and Ieskar often was at war for the sake of pursuing his ideals.

It was through war that he met Medair, the very same to whom his present day iteration is now bonded. They were from opposing sides of the war, but he fell deeply in love with her, though she hated him as an enemy. His feelings for her threw a wrench into all his well-laid plans. When a terrible magic was unleashed that threatened both sides of the war, Ieskar chose to sacrifice his goals and his life to save them all, but he promised to find her again in another life, when their interactions were no longer poisoned by war.

Reincarnated countless times, he searched fruitlessly for ages, slowly falling into despair that she had been lost in the past and left behind forever. However, in his current life, he was given a vision that Medair had resurfaced, having never actually died. He dropped everything he had and immediately began a long and perilous journey alone across the continent to a clan in the Singing Seas where, finally, he found her.
