 Far from the home others called The Tangled Woods, Shadowborne ventured though muck and mire to make his new home among his clan. Rumors of the Rising Gods, a small clan of dragons who explicitly welcomed and bred dragons in the colors of the deities, drew his attention after he heard whispers of his own clan's plans to exalt him. While serving the Shadowbinder would been seen as a noble and just destiny, Shadowborne wanted more from the life he knew.

Venturing over land and sea to find the small clan others had been whispering of in treetops and river beds, Shadowborne encountered many on his way who sought the same clan he did - namely, another Guardian named Tidesong, who himself happened to share the colors of his Flight's deity.

Eager and playful, Shadowborne wasted no time in swindling Tidesong of all that he owned, aside from a few seashells he refused to gamble.

The two traveled together through wind and magma until they came to the sea, where Shadowborne's deceit made Tidesong's true character show. Tidesong was eager to repay Shadowborne's kindnesses, sending him into deep water, convincing him rocks were eggs of water snakes, and even trying to convince him that he would be able to easily swim the path to the Cloudscrape Crags - which was grossly untrue.

In due time, both Guardians made their way to the Clan of Rising Gods, and made their new home in the Southern Icefield.
