Argent Berserker Protective | Ferocious | Uncontrollable Almost as soon as he had hatched, Argent was groomed to be a mage. With the pride and confidence of youth, he took his magenta eyes and spines to be a symbol of his future success and at the coaxing of his parents threw himself wholeheartedly into his studies, only to fail. And with each failure Argent's eagerness turned to apathy, and eventually to hatred and he came to realize that he could no longer blame his teacher's lessons or the rigors of his trade; the source was within him. It was himself Argent believed - his own lack of aptitude that was the root of his failure. He gathered what possessions he had and fled in bitter shame from the Starfall Isles towards the east. Argent eventually arrived in the Viridian Labyrinth and found that it didn't quite match his expectations. Hatchling tales in the Starfall Isles describe a primal, lush land where only the strongest flora, fauna or dragons flourish. Instead, the young mirror found a welcoming family of tree dragons, as well as more than a few adopted outsiders like himself. For the first time in his life, Argent felt unburdened. He was awkward at first, familiar only with a life softened by the liberal use of magic but felt himself settling in the the rhythms on life in the forest. Despite his abhorrence of spell casters in general, he forged a friendship with the clan healer, Hyacinth. Something about her made the headstrong mirror feel content, as if he was coming home. But for Argent, the best thing of all about his new family was there was no pressuring expectations, self imposed or otherwise and he found he actually wanted to contribute to the clan in his own way. He honed his instinctual hunting abilities and turned them toward combat, soon joining Vishnal on the General's patrols and missions. Argent's fighting style could not have contrasted more with the imperial's, as Argent's self tutelage resulted in a noticeable lack of finesse. Still, launching himself at foes, all teeth and claws and blood lust typically worked well enough for him, even if it provided more work for Hyacinth. |
