...About.
A kind and gentle old dragon, she lives with her grandchildren and some great grandchildren in a clan she happened upon one day while searching for her firstborn son, Leng. She is determined and strong-willed, very rarely backing down from a challenge. She is incredibly wise and has the life experience to back it up.
She enjoys the night, when it is quiet and peaceful. |
Ubborina QUEEN MOTHER "Finally, I've found my son." |
...History.
She dislikes talking about her past, before she met her grandchildren. Her original mate is long dead and she didn't have much desire to produce any more children. She did end up having a few more after being taken into a new Plague clan but, she never grew quite as attached to them. Which brought her great shame. She left her old clan and traveled the world, searching for her son Leng, her firstborn and the child she loves the most, which she hates to admit. What type of mother picks favourites like that? He was her first, the child who didn't run off to war. She could hardly remember what he looked like, but this didn't stop her from searching. She could only pray that he was alive, and that he had kept his name.
She was very much so ready to give up, barely able to travel the icy tundra, where she had decided was the last place she would search. The cold was getting to her, the blizzards in the Southern Icefield were cruel and unrelenting. She felt her end was near, unsuccessful and depressed that she was about to die in such a horrific way. That was when she heard voices, she first assumed hallucinations, because that is what supposedly happens when you freeze to death. But then she saw figures, a pearlcatcher and a skydancer standing before her, they were talking but Ubboriana could not make out what they were saying. She blacked out.
She awoke in a cave, surrounded by other pearlcatchers, and that single skydancer. They huddled up close to her, while keeping her near a fire. The pearlcatcher who had saved her, supposedly, approached, he introduced himself as Leechan, she thanked them all, and asked why they were showing such kindness to an old dragon, especially in this icy tundra, she thought those who live in the Icefields were cruel. The clan laughed and simply stated that their father, Leng, taught them better. That is when Ubboriana's eyes lit up, her hope rekindled and spirit lifted. As if she regained a new sense of youth she jumped onto her feet, she told the clan of her journey, of how she thought her son was dead. The clan explained that Leng's clan had been moving from the Plague lands to the Shadow territory, so she must have missed them during their transition. They then explained that Leng often visits their clan, so she should stay.
Ubboriana made herself at home, surrounded by family she didn't even know she had. The sudden responsibility of being Queen Mother was, daunting at best. Midas and Euthalia, Leng's eldest girls, often helped Ubboriana settle into their clan and her new responsibilities.
The move to Nature territory was greatly endorced by Ubboriana, this helped with swaying those in the clan to go with the decision.
