Biography
Nuri - Advisor
|
Nur had lived in the same small plague village for most of her life. She was always found buried in the meager store of scrolls that her clan possessed, reading them over and over, or else hunting down the storyteller for another tale. She wanted to see more of the world that the scrolls had told her about, but she could not leave without any guide or plan. So when Star passed by the village, it was Nuri's dream come true. The two nocturnes became friends easily, and Nuri told Star of a world where people could get all the information they wished. The two friends set off to Sunbeam Ruins, and along the way they refined their plan. When they finally reached the great Sundial Terrace, they went off in search of secrets, and so their clan begun. Her fourth child. The firstborn of the second nest. A twin to her mother. Lost. Nuri had run from danger, her newborn child cradled in her claws. The young one's eyes had not even opened yet. So young. So innocent. Had she been that way before all that had happened to her? Nuri did not know. She flew from the Wanderer's camp, away from the screaming, from the clanking of armor. Her mate had the two unhatched eggs. She had the newborn. They split, heading to safety. But as she wove through the pillars that littered the land of the Promenade, a trap was sprung. Nuri was crushed beneath fallen chunks of the marble columns. Vague recollections of two other dragons. Searing pain. Her child, wrenched from her arms. When she once again woke, it was to find herself unable to move, and without her daughter. Nuri's body below her front legs was crushed beneath the weight of the pillars. Her clan had found her in time to save her life, but medicine can only do so much. Both of her wings were hopelessly splintered, rendering her unable to fly. She had difficulty walking with the use of her back legs. And her child was nowhere to be found. Star decided that Nuri was unable to continue leading the Wanderers. The rest of the clan agreed. Nuri protested, but resigned herself to become an advisor. She has accepted that her child was lost. Her life continues on. |
